
#NZ7s ‘sisters’ win Amsterdam tournament
New Zealand put an exclamation mark on the end of their IRB Women’s Sevens World Series title win by winning The Netherlands tournament in Amsterdam this morning.
The New Zealand Women’s Sevens team secured their hold on the four-part Series after beating Spain 14 – 5 in their quarterfinal. Accurate passing and powerful running saw the ‘Sevens Sisters’ put Russia away 24 -10 in the semifinal before beating Canada 33 - 24 in the Final.
The Final against Canada was an intensely physical encounter with top-quality sevens rugby that saw a total nine tries in the match.
